Overview
Gidara Bugyal is one of the largest alpine meadows in Uttarakhand — a rolling grassland at 3,600 m that stretches for kilometres across a ridge with 360° Himalayan views. Unlike its more famous neighbour Dayara Bugyal, Gidara sees a small fraction of the visitors, making it one of Garhwal's finest undiscovered meadow treks. The route climbs from the roadhead village of Bhukki through oak and rhododendron forest to the open ridge, where camps look out over the Bandarpunch massif, Kalanag, and the Gangotri group. Ideal for trekkers looking for a moderate-grade meadow experience away from the crowds.
