Overview
The Panchachuli Base Camp Trek is the most rewarding high-altitude objective in the Kumaon Himalaya. The five summits of the Panchachuli massif — Panchachuli I through V, ranging from 6,312 m to 6,904 m — loom directly above the base camp at 4,260 m, creating a visual arena unlike anything else in India. The approach threads through the remote Darma Valley, passing ancient Shauka villages and dense forests before ascending through high alpine meadows to the glacier-edge base camp. This is Himalayan trekking at its most raw.
